Thunder Brigade is an action game released in 1998 by Interactive Magic. The game was released for Windows.


The plot and action of the game take place in the near future. Two alien races attacked the Earth's colonies. Our task is to drive armored 50-ton tanks that float on air cushions thanks to gravity drives.


There are three different factions - Earth Alliance, Empire of Halon, and United System. The player is a member of the latter and must fight for independence with two opposing federations. The goal of the mission is made more difficult due to the predominance of enemies - they have technologically advanced equipment unknown to the human race.


Among the game modes, you can choose from single missions or a campaign consisting of 30 missions. The fights take place in 12 locations on three planets. In missions, you can undertake infiltration, reconnaissance, patrol, escort or combat. With each success, the rank of commander rises from recruit to colonel to major. Under certain conditions, we are awarded various medals, such as the Cross of Recognition, when we manage to save prisoners. To destroy aliens, you can choose from 4 types of tanks and various weapons - lasers, rocket launchers, railway rifles.


The game requires practice and a little dexterity. Tanks are susceptible to maneuver, which makes aiming difficult. To defeat an enemy, you often have to hit him multiple times. This requires proper tactical planning during missions and not sacrificing your own units often.
