Up is an action game based on the animated film of the same title. The player takes on the role of Carl Frederickson, an elderly man who always dreamed of great adventures but never had the chance to experience them. After the death of his wife, Carl finally decides to fulfill his dreams by setting off on an extraordinary journey with a scout, Russel.

The gameplay focuses on the cooperation of two characters, each of whom has unique abilities: Carl uses his cane to help with jumping and a crowbar to open passages, and Russel can balance on narrow edges, catch insects and blind opponents with a magnifying glass. In some stages, the team is joined by the dog Dug, who can swim. Most levels are classic platform stages with numerous puzzles requiring the use of the skills of all the characters. The game also offers a co-op mode.
