Chasm: The Rift is an action game (FPS) released in 1997 by GT Interactive Software. The game was released for PC (DOS).

Classic FPS shooter, which is a continuation of the mechanics used in the canonical Quake series. The uncomplicated story about the invasion of hordes of mutants from corrupted space-time is just a pretext for the player to play the role of an elite commando, ready with a rifle in his hand, to stop subsequent invaders. Among our opponents we will find creatures that testify to the rich imagination of the authors, and for their extermination we will use a whole arsenal of pistols, shotguns and grenades, with which we will traverse the nooks of the affected military bases or Egyptian catacombs.

An element worthy of mention is the wide possibility of interaction with the environment, such as destroying lighting or breaking windows in windows. The physics of damage inflicted has also been refined, thanks to which we can effectively deprive enemies of heads and limbs. Despite some shortcomings, Chasm: The Rift is still a playable proposition, also in multiplayer.
