The action of BloodRayne 2 takes us from the period of World War II to the beginning of the 21st century. This time the main character, the vampire Rayne, fights with a group called Cult of Kagan. This group created a material called The Shroud. Thanks to this special substance, vampires can stay in the daylight without negative effects on themselves. With this possibility, vampires want to create new governments over humanity. The group of vampires is headed by Kagan, who is Rayne's father. The vampire wants to destroy him, this is her main task, and in BloodRayne 2.

The camera in the game is often in front of the character, not behind their back. In addition to fighting with melee weapons, the player can fire from a firearm. This weapon can be improved in the course of the game. The main character also uses a whip, thanks to which she can attract enemies. Rayne has the ability to slow down time, target enemies, and trigger a kind of fury. The game became famous for its great visuals for the time in which it was created. She is also famous for scenes of brutal executions.

In the second part of the game, the audiovisual properties were improved, the resolution and texture quality were improved, and interesting and new graphic effects were added.
