Under a Killing Moon is a 1994 adventure game published by Access Software. The game was released for Macintosh and PC (DOS).
Tex Murphy is a private investigator based in futuristic San Francisco. After a series of resolved cases, he falls into the so-called dimple: he recently divorced his wife and is barely making ends meet trying to find a lucrative job. When a case finally comes into his hands, it turns out that the fate of the world depends on its fate. If it does not solve it, not only will the forces of evil destroy humanity, but in addition Murphy will lose the chance for unemployment benefits.
The Tex Murphy gameplay combines cinematic FMV technology with spaces rendered in more conventional 3D. Players facing this humorous production must play the role of the title detective, first of all, show cleverness and the ability to combine facts. There are also opportunities to meet the many colorful and eccentric characters living in San Francisco of the future. Tex Murphy: Under The Killing Moon takes full advantage of classic detective-themed works, giving it a specific, retro-futuristic style.
