"Ultimate Spider-Man" is a third-person game referring to the adventures of the spider superhero, which were described in the comic book of the same title. The plot focuses on Peter Parker's first steps as Spider-Man.
The player has the opportunity to accompany Peter not only during the fight against crime, but also during his studies, at work in a publishing house and during meetings with Mary Jane Watson. Thanks to this, we have the opportunity to visit the most characteristic locations for both New York and comic book places. Young Parker must maneuver between his family home, the university, and the building that houses the Daily Bugle, while fighting thugs plundering the city. Among them are Electro, Rhino, and even Venom, in which the player can play the role. Hand-to-hand combat between opponents is based on performing basic blows and combos characteristic for each hero. In addition, Venom, thanks to its unique strength, can use the elements of the environment and throw them at the opponent, thanks to which the gameplay becomes more diverse.
References to comics are also present in the visual setting of the game. The cut-scenes presenting the plot are realized in the form of picture stories, and each character is surrounded by a black outline characteristic for the classic drawing style.
