Netherworld: Beyond Time I Stand is an action game in which players follow a woman named Amanda as she searches the underworld for her kidnapped daughter. Players move around abandoned cities and dark caves, switching between creatures / characters (e.g. Instinct, Shadow or Corruption), fighting various creatures along the way (e.g. succubus, spider demons, dogs). Players can use swords, whips, fire and magic to attack enemies at close range. Long-range lightning bolt can be aimed and fired at any target for more damage. The attacks generally cause light effects, groans and groans, and small puffs of red blood.

Gameplay in Netherworld is the weakest link. Netherworld is a linear third-person action adventure title for the PC. You move through the area, kill enemies, and fulfill the objective required to proceed. The game has lost souls that can be collected in each level. Except for the ones that increase your stats, they're worthless except when they're holding a Door Scroll. Combat is mostly just crushing attack buttons to win and hope the enemy doesn't hit you.
