Mortal Kombat 4, an arcade game (brawl) released in 1997 by Midway Games. The game was released for arcade (1997) and a year later (1998) also for PlatStation, Nintendo 64 and PCs.
Thousands of years before the first part of the game, Shinnok, one of the Elder Gods of the Mortal Kombat Kingdom, attempted to take over. Raiden - the god of electricity and lightning - fought with him for hundreds of years, finally defeating him. The punishment for Shinnok was exile to the land of Netherreal, where he was imprisoned forever. Unfortunately, after a few years Shinnok managed to leave the banquet, using the help of the magician Quan Chi. Shinnok gained further kingdoms of Mortal Kombat. In order to stop the threat of overthrowing the kingdom, Raiden asked for help from the warriors known from previous games to help him re-imprison Shinnok.
Mortal Kombat 4 is the first in a series of full 3D graphics. One of the novelties was the introduction of unique weapons for every warrior
