Midwinter is an action (strategy) game released in 1989 by Rainbird Software. The game was released for Amiga, Atari ST and PC (DOS).

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world. In the dawn where winter lasts all year. We play the role of Captain John Stark - the commander of police premises called Free Villages Police Force (FVPF). Your task is to protect your home island against the invasion of soldiers under the command of General Masters. Your task will be, among others recruiting new policemen among civilians to oppose Masters.

Midwinter is a game that combines elements of an action game - e.g. skiing, shooting with a sniper and tactical rifle - issuing orders to recruits and coordinating their activities.
