Karateka is an arcade game released in 1984 by Brøderbund Software, Inc. The game was released for most computers of the time, including PC (DOS).

In the game, you play the title karate. Your task is to free the princess from the horde of the evil Akuma (who enslaved and destroyed the karateka homeland). Fortunately - you are a master of martial arts and your skills will certainly be useful on the way to the palace.

Karateka is one of the first (if not the first) games in which martial arts are shown. The game was created by Jordan Mechner (the same from Prince of Persia) - character animation, it is very fluid - what in the 80's was really rare.
