Deuteros: The Next Millennium is a strategy game released in 1991 by Activision. The game was released for Amiga and Atari ST computers.
Deuteros: The Next Millennium focuses on exploring the galaxy and gathering natural resources, just like the first installment in this acclaimed series. The player's goal is to guide human civilization towards a better future. The action takes place in a world where the earth is a devastated caricature of itself from centuries ago.
The beginning of the game focuses on exploring earthly resources and the occasional resources found in steroids. Later, the pace of the game accelerates significantly, although you should still bear in mind the advanced age of this production and its technical limitations. However, the gameplay is at an amazingly high level. The campaign is relatively long and addictive, and the main goal is to conquer 8 solar systems and collect 8 parts of the mysterious machine around which the story of Deuteros is focused.
Graphically and sonically, Deuteros cannot compete even with games released in a similar period, but after a few hours of getting used to the gameplay model, the player is rewarded with a compact and logical system that gives a lot of satisfaction from victories.
