"Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome" is an expansion for the game "Battlefield 1942", which mainly focuses on multiplayer gameplay. The action of the game takes place in the least known battles of World War II - the Italian and Sicilian campaigns. Players have the opportunity to play the role of soldiers of two new forces (French Legion and Italian Army), which adds freshness to the gameplay.
"Road to Rome" introduces eight new vehicles to the game, including German BF-110 bombers, as well as new units armed with small arms such as rifle grenade launchers, the British Sten submachine gun and bayonets. Thanks to this, players receive new tools to conduct dynamic battles.
The expansion also adds six new maps based on the Italian and Sicilian campaigns (including Operation Husky).
