Arcatera: The Dark Brotherhood is an RPG game released in 2000 by Ubi Soft Entertainment Software. The game was released for PC (Windows).

Arcatera is an adventure game with many RPG elements set in a medieval fantasy world. The game is characterized by a non-linear story, allowing you to freely manage the fate of the characters. Our team has to unravel the dark secrets of the Kantd forest, its actions lead to one of ten possible endings. They have three weeks for this task.

The game is based on the huge world of paper RPGs and works on similar principles. The game starts in the village of Senora on the edge of the huge Kandt forest. The city is inhabited by 80 different NPCs, who do not wait idly for the action to unfold, but live their own business.
The combat system from the paper version has been almost completely adapted, moving it only into the electronic world. However, the fight takes place in real time, and players do not have to deal with every aspect of the game in one turn. We can stop the fight at any time and plan a further strategy, controlling each action. The game is an interesting mix of world discovery, character development and real-time combat.
