Tex Murphy: Mean Streets is an adventure game released in 1989 by Access Software. The game was released for Amiga, Atari ST, C64, Macintosh and PC (DOS / Linux / Windows).
The plot of the game takes place in the near future - specifically in 2033. A professor and scientist at the University of San Francisco according to the official version committed suicide. However, his daughter - Sylvia Linsky - does not believe this and asks the title hero - Tex Murphy - to investigate the case. It turns out that the girl was right - the case involves high-ranking people for whom a research group of scientists worked. They dealt with a top secret project, which would mean a global disaster. Only Tex Murphy can prevent this and save the world.
It's an atmospheric retro style game that should appeal to followers of shooters and criminal puzzles. For Sunday players there is also the possibility of reducing the level of difficulty of fighting, thanks to which the gameplay will remain pleasant. Graphics (of course, taking into account the times of creation) impresses with the detailed character and location mapping. The musical setting is also pleasing to the ear.
