Ring II: Twilight of the Gods is a sequel to Ring from 1998, both productions based on themes from the musical drama The Ring of the Nibelung by Richard Wagner. These titles, however, received a new, science-fiction chic. According to the prototype, the story focuses on the fate of the noble and brave Siegfried.


The gameplay in Ring II: Twilight of the Gods is similar to works like Atlantis: The Lost Tales or Thorgal's Curse of Odin. It is an adventure production in which exploration is of great importance, as there are over 25 locations waiting to be visited. In most of them, the main character collects items (for example the legendary hammer Mjolnir), talks with encountered NPCs and solves logical puzzles that require the use of various tools (e.g. a blacksmith's bellows).


Following the example of the first part, the visual layer was once again supervised by the French comic book creator Philippe Druillet, the game also features music composed by Richard Wagner.
