Protostar: War on the Frontier (also known as Starflight 3: Protostar) is a strategy game released in 1993 by Tsunami Media. The game was released for PC (DOS).

Thirsty for adventures in space? So "Protostar: War on the Frontier" is a game for you! The mysterious Skeetch appeared in the universe, threatening to destroy the human race. The only rescue is to create a strong coalition among other intelligent civilizations. Unfortunately, their representatives are reluctant to cooperate. And here comes the player whose task will be to change this state of affairs.

We have at our disposal a small spaceship with a completely green crew and a limited budget. So we will have to increase our resources accordingly (by exploring unknown worlds, acquiring minerals and valuable life forms, and trading or exchanging). Thanks to access to various space stations, we can collect information on topics of interest to us, exchange acquired goods, improve the space ship, and even resurrect fallen heroes. There will be no fight, and victory will be provided by various types of guns, engines and force fields. Let's remember, however, that our ultimate goal is to win allies, and each of them expects something different. When we manage to complete the task, the final battle with the Skeetches awaits us.
