Pirates of the Caribbean is an RPG game released in 2003 by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released for PC (Windows) and XBox.


It is an action adventure game. The player is an independent captain of a sailing ship, living in the 17th century in the golden age of piracy. He is looking for happiness, fame and wealth in the Pacific Sea. He witnesses the attack of the French on the island belonging to the English (Caribbean). He manages to notify the governor of the incident, and he sends the hero back to find out what the French plans are and what military power they have. The player's task is to complete the crew and perform a number of tasks for the selected power. An adventure awaits the captain in the heart of the struggle for influence between the French and the English, pirates and merchants. There will be a legendary treasure hidden on a secret island. The player decides for himself which side of the conflict he wants to take, he can choose the direction of shipping himself. He can also take paid orders, buy better and better ships, hire a crew, increase his experience, and improve combat with the use of melee weapons. He also takes part in naval battles with the use of on-board artillery, boarding and hand-to-hand combat.
