Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, is an adventure game with tactical elemants released in 2002 by Konami. The game was released for PS (Windows), XBox and PlayStation consoles.

The game's story revolves around the "Big Shell" wastewater treatment plant, which has been invaded by a group of terrorists known as "Sons of Liberty". Terrorists demand ransom for the life of the President of the United States and threaten to pollute the environment by destroying the object of the treatment plant if their demands are not met.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is an extension to the Sons of Liberty version. One of the most important changes is the ability to choose a scene (chapter) from which we want to play Tanker or Plant.

Chapter: Tanker

Two years after the events on the island, Shadow Moses, Solid Snake and Hal Emmerich work together for Philanthropy - an organization fighting the production of new Metal Gear. They learn that a new type of Metal Gear is transported across the Hudson River. When Snake gets on board the ship, he discovers that Revolver Ocelot plans to steal Metal Gear with a group of Russian mercenaries.

Chapter: Plant

Two years after the tanker's events, a sea sewage treatment plant 30 km from New York is taken over by terrorists calling themselves the Sons of Freedom. To rescue the imprisoned politicians there is a new agent FOXHOUND - Raiden.
