Dawn Patrol is a simulation game released in 1994 by Empire Interactive Entertainment. The game was released for Amiga and PC (DOS).
Dawn Patrol is a very ambitious game whose goal is to move the player into the world of real air battles that took place during World War I.
In the video game Dawn Patrol we can find a very interestingly implemented encyclopedia containing all the necessary information about pilots and their aircraft. It is it is a kind of menu and allows (using chapters) to move to the simulation of battles directly related to a given issue - the chosen machine or war hero. There are a total of 150 missions to be played here!
Air clashes can be seen from inside the cockpit of the aircraft, equipped with a simplified panel of on-board instruments. The basic players will use are the compass, altitude indicator and flight speed indicator. The game focuses on the fun of air combat and simplifies a lot of elements typical of flight simulators. We will not find here the possibility of realistic machine takeoff or landing.
