The protagonist of the game is Rayne, a dhampir, a half-blood vampire born of a father - a vampire and a human mother. Rayne tracks down, hunts and kills the vampires who contributed to her mother's death. The story begins in the 1930s when Rayne wakes up in a mental institution after her mother is killed by a vampire.

In the game, humans are surrounded by a vampire taint and cannot cross the barrier. A group of dhampires has arisen to hunt down vampires who have come into contact with humans so that they can feed on their blood without killing them. Rayne, the new dhampir, wants to join the group, but her life is in the balance before she is accepted.

Rayne can track vampires by their vampire stench, which she senses from a distance, but is unable to cross the barrier that separates humans from vampires; must hunt for them in their domains. The heroine also has additional abilities such as seeing in the dark, zooming in on an image or slowing down time. Unfortunately, she also has to eat blood, but she is satisfied with the blood of killed opponents - mainly Nazi occultists in the first part.

The game is primarily a third-person over-the-shoulder action game with hand-to-hand combat.
