FIFA 08 is the next installment of the popular football game series, which debuted in 2007. The game offers updated team rosters, new teams and expanded control options, as well as additional game modes.

The game features 620 teams from 30 national leagues. The new features include the Australian, Czech and Irish leagues, introduced for the first time. Interactive online leagues have also been added to the well-known game modes, such as friendly matches, tournaments, challenges and manager mode. The biggest novelty, however, is the "Be A Pro - Co-op Season" mode, in which players can take on the role of one player for the entire season. Players can earn experience points for completing goals and being the best player of the match, which allows players to develop their skills.

It is also worth noting the new control method. The new options include manual passes and crosses, in which the direction and strength depend on the length of the button press. In defense, it is possible to select the best defender, and in one-on-one situations, players can take control of the goalkeeper, making manual saves and slides.
