The Longest Journey is a point and click adventure game released in 1999 by IQ Media Nordic. The game was released for PC (Windows).
The Longest Journey is a perfect example of a classic point & click adventure. Playing the role of April Rayan, we travel between two parallel worlds - the magic-filled Arkadia and the technology-controlled world of Stark. It is on them that the reality of the game world fell apart thousands of years ago. An eighteen-year-old student at the Academy of Fine Arts, harassed by catastrophic visions, must decide the fate of these two dimensions towards the inevitable apocalypse. And here begins the title "longest journey".
The game was divided into thirteen chapters preceded by a prologue and ended with an epilogue. We explore tasks and mechanics typical of point & click gameplay by exploring subsequent locations and talking to encountered people. These will be, above all, various logic puzzles. The plot is extremely complex and complicated. However, its solution will be helped by numerous cutscenes and its own diary, which will chronologically arrange the collected information.
