Sword of the Samurai is a strategy game with RPG elements. The action takes place during the times of feudal Japan. The player's task is to impersonate the main character and accompany him in the transformation from vassal to shogun level.


The beginning of the game is based on creating the main character, starting with choosing a name. He is a servant samurai who reaches the next level of power by competing with opponents. It goes through the steps: hatamoto, daimyo, up to the shogun. It is very important to choose the difficulty level, because it also depends on the units that the opponent will have. The bushido code and its observance have a significant impact on the gameplay, which is worth remembering. The game surprises with the offspring system, in which our initial main character may die or retire. and his place is taken by a descendant in a straight line.


The player can decide for himself whether the achieved position of power suits him, or whether he wants to go even higher. It depends on whether the main character will simply defend his place or fight for promotion. During the game, the hero encounters various characters who present him the truth about the world and the rules that govern it.
