Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is an action adventure game in which the main character is the Spider-Man. New York is plagued by a plague of symbiotes, black parasitic cells from outer space that turn living creatures into a peculiar army of evil led by Venom. Spier-Man fails to avoid contamination, although he fights back a lot. The use of symbiotes to increase your power is very great, but after each use, the Spider-Man loses in the eyes of his friends and beloved because of the actions he performs under the influence of bad energy. She begins to wonder if it is worth using the extra strength to quickly eliminate enemies or giving up that power.

The game was divided into two parts: combat and platform sections. At the beginning, the player can inflict basic blows, which he gradually builds up thanks to the points he receives for each defeated opponent. The game takes place in an open city with a fairly large area. The protagonist moves around it with the help of spider webs. The missions are very similar to each other and are mainly based on: save, kill a group of enemies and go for the next task. Moving around the buildings has unfortunately not been well developed.

The game has an interesting system of penalties and rewards for actions committed by the hero. You can get black or red points that have little effect on the rest of the game. Thanks to them, you can get help from more or less positive heroes later in the game.
