Continuation of the real-time strategy of Rise of Nations, in which the player's goal was to build his own civilization. In Rise of Legends, the creators moved away from the realistic world - they replaced it with an interesting universe in which magic occurs next to technology modeled on the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci. The story presented in the game focuses on the conflict between the factions split between these two paths of development.
In Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, the user takes the side of one of the groups and starts building his own city. Four types of districts are of key importance here: merchant, military, palace and guild districts. Their expansion sets the direction that civilization will follow. Hence the military district increases the strength of the army etc.
It is worth mentioning that the production is characterized by high replayability thanks to four paths of nation development. Two of them are common to magic and technology, the rest are unique. In this way, with each approach to a campaign or individual missions, the player can test different approaches to conflict resolution. Heroes, whose skills can be crucial, e.g. when taking over hostile agglomerations, also have a great influence on gameplay.
