The game is theme based on the first part of the game (although it is not branded Sid's Meier). We start the game with the invention of the railway. We play the owner of one of several available rail freight. Our task is to manage the selected company so as to ultimately get as much money as possible - and above all, to make our rail network the largest in the area of ​​activity.

As in the first part of the game, most of the games here will also be the purchase of locomotives, depots, railway stations and, above all, rail traffic management. Your task is to arrange the composition to earn the most (eg send wagons for carriage of coal only where this charcoal sells the most expensive, etc.).

Railroad Tycoon 2 Gold is a must-have item for fans of the Tycoon series. In the second part, graphics and sound have definitely improved. Nice additions are film cutscenes.
