The Guardian of Darkness is an action game released in 1999 by Cryo Interactive Entertainment. The main character of The Guardian of Darkness is Ekna, a member of the secret organization The Gate, which regularly sends a man on the most dangerous paranormal missions. Ekna, as an exorcist monk, deals with fighting dangers with a rich palette of spells. Initially, he has only a few of them, but under the supervision of an experienced mentor - Burnst, he gets to know new spells. Ekna's skills can be divided into two groups. The first is the ability to enter a trance, transform into a specific medium. The second one concerns strictly defensive spells. The ability to use lightning for self-defense or energy orbs are just a few examples. The above predispositions are mainly used to defeat enemies or monsters. After each level completed, Ekna returns to her Tenebrans quarters, where she can receive new orders from The Gate. Hence, he can obtain special weapons, such as grenades or energy power-ups.
