The hero of the game is Sam Fisher, an agent of Third Echelon, who, in order to save his friend Anna, performs the tasks entrusted to him by the company. After being cheated, he runs away and tries to help his friend on his own, as a fugitive. Ultimately, the game involves a clash with former bosses.
