Merchant Prince is an economic game released in 1993 by Quantum Quality Productions. The game was released for PC (DOS).

Merchant Prince is a trading game set in the renaissance and golden age of Venice. Your main task is to manage trade routes, warehouses and goods. Your merchant fleet is ships (sea transport) and caravans (land transport). You have to carry goods, trying to buy cheaply and sell where the price is high. Merchant Prince is not just trading. The game includes various possibilities of influencing the final success, eg you can expand your influence in the Senate (bribing senators) or the Church (bribing cardinals). You can also hire mercenaries (called "condotieri") to attack enemies or force cities to open up to trade with you.
