"Battlestrike: Shadow of Stalingrad" is a shooter set in the realities of World War II. The player takes on the role of a Soviet soldier entrusted with the mission of finding and eliminating a German scientist working on a new super-weapon for Hitler. The main campaign takes place on the streets of destroyed Stalingrad.
Players have at their disposal a number of weapons from World War II, such as the PPSh-41 or Tokarev SVT-40. It is possible to stab people, throw fragmentation and smoke grenades, and use mounted machine guns.
An interesting element of the mechanics is the automatic regeneration of health when the player stands still and is not exposed to fire. This element of the strategy encourages you to temporarily give up active combat in order to regenerate your strength and plan your next steps.
