Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds is a strategy game (RTS) released in 19998 by GT Interactive Software. The game was released for PC (Windows).

The plot of the game is based on the classic science fiction novel H.G. Wells under the same title. It is 1898. The Martians, fleeing their dying world, chose Earth to conquer it and settle it. In the game we can choose the side of the conflict - martians or people. Choosing a martian, we will have powerful and advanced weapons. On the other hand, the number of strangers is definitely smaller than that of people. When choosing people, we will have a very weak army - but on the other hand we will be much larger. The game has no specific purpose. Your task is to dominate Great Britain. During the game, you must use your time wisely to build production forces and facilities in your sectors before the enemy can launch an attack. In the game you will be able to discover new technologies, build buildings and new military units.
