Maniac Mansion is an adventure game released in 1987 by Lucasfilm Games. The game was released for Amiga, Apple II, Atari ST, C64 and PC (DOS).

The game takes place on the premises of the fictional Edison family. Dave and his friends end up there. His girlfriend has been kidnapped by monsters. Despite its grotesque appearance, the plot is framed as a weak horror film intended to amuse the player, rather than scare. The characters are exaggerated, unreal, while maintaining clarity and memorable. Certainly, independently living tentacles stand out, as well as a mad scientist - Dr. Fred Edison.
