Knight Rider 2: The Game is the sequel to Knight Rider: The Game in which Michael and KITT become the target of a missile attack as they return to the foundation. They barely survive and arrange a rendezvous with the base. On their way home, however, they notice unusual black marks in the destroyed villages and decide to investigate.

All missions in the game involve controlling KITT's car, which is equipped with three types of weapons: a laser, a plasma cannon and rockets. There are also functions such as turbo boost for jumping over obstacles, a jammer for scanning objects and charging energy, a ski mode for driving through narrow passages, and a shield for blocking attacks. In case of damage or low energy, some functions may be disabled.

The game, like the TV series, features well-known characters such as Bonnie, Devon, Garth and KARR. Missions are divided into racing and exploration.
In racing missions, the player avoids attacks by driving on the highway, and in exploration missions, he guides KITT in closed areas, maneuvering through passages and fighting robots.
The game also features puzzle elements in which the player must locate terminals, shoot at objects, or find enemies' weak spots.
