Act of War: High Treason, released in 2006, is an add-on to Act of War: Direct Action, which was released a year earlier. The plot of this version takes place a few years after the events presented in Direct Action. The terrorists remain the main enemy, but this time they take on a group called the Consortium. It tries to contaminate the world with a dangerous virus, so as you can guess, your task is to prevent it.


Battles are held mainly in coastal and sea areas, which is the main novelty of the game expansion. Each faction has access to different ships and even submarines. Hired mercenaries can also help you win, of course after appropriate payment. As in the previous part, this time you will have to fight in various parts of the world. You will fight battles in e.g. Mexico or Kazakhstan. As for the arsenal of weapons, the developers still hold the level in this matter. A lot of new equipment has appeared, incl. anti-aircraft launchers and various types of rockets to eliminate bunkers, helicopters and ships.
