Hugo: The Evil Mirror is a three-dimensional platform game in which the main characters are the children of the TV troll - Hugo: Trollerit, Trollerat and Trollerut. The evil witch Scylla trapped Hugo in a magic mirror in front of his children. The mirror was then broken into three pieces and scattered throughout the troll forest. Now each of the children must recover the mirror fragment to free their father.

Gameplay includes: sled racing, platforming, defeating enemies and collecting diamonds. The player takes on the role of each of three children to recover a fragment of the mirror. After collecting all the fragments, the player enters the mirror, where, as Hugo, they must face Scylla's projection inside the mirror to free themselves.
